Introduction

The choice of topic is integral to the success in EE. It is important for students to choose a subject and topic they are passionate about so that they stay motivated throughout the EE process. As subject availability for the EE is not the same for each session, the EE Coordinator will provide a list of DP subjects on offer.

After choosing the subject for the EE, the next step in the process is to define what their research is going to focus on. Students need to choose a topic and undertake some background reading in it.

  • Which subject area is of most personal interest to you?
  • Is there something you are especially curious about in one of your IB courses?
  • Did your personal project spark an idea that can be researched?
